Adam joined Columbia Pacific Advisors in 2015 as an analyst for our Real Estate and Opportunistic strategies, and focuses primarily on investments in Healthcare and Senior Housing sectors. Previously, Adam worked in entrepreneurial and finance roles at DaVita Rx – the integrated care pharmacy business of DaVita HealthCare Partners. Adam earned his B.S. in Biological Sciences from Stanford University and his M.B.A. from Stanford Graduate School of Business.
Alan Spragins joined Columbia Pacific Advisors in 2012 as Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel. Prior to joining Columbia Pacific Advisors, Alan was the CFO, CCO and General Counsel for Brighton Jones (a Registered Investment Advisor). Formerly, Alan was a member of Lake Union Capital Partners (a buy-out firm focused on turn-around acquisitions), and has served in leadership roles for a large financial institution, a mid-cap technology and manufacturing company, and a software company. Alan received his Bachelors of Accountancy and JD from the University of Mississippi and a LL.M. in taxation from New York University.
Alex Washburn is the Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Columbia Pacific Advisors. Alex has been involved in all phases of the firm’s development since its founding in 2006 and sits on each of the firm’s investment committees. Prior to founding Columbia Pacific Advisors, Alex was a partner and portfolio manager at Summit Capital Management, a Northwest-based multi-strategy investment manager. He is a Director of Red Lion Hotels, Winemakers Investment Properties, Glenholme Healthcare Group, Freehold Corporation, Northeast Wireless Networks and SCI Solutions.
Alex is a trustee and member of the Board of Directors of the Seattle Aquarium. He is a member of the Tyee Board of Advisors for the University of Washington Athletics. Alex graduated with a B.A. from the University of Washington with a concentration in Finance.
Annie Abbott joined the Columbia Pacific Advisors team in 2015. Ms. Abbott works on Real Estate Marketing and Investor Relations. Prior to joining CPA, Annie worked as a Global Project Coordinator in the Corporate Headquarters of Colliers International. Annie is a Seattle native, a graduate from the University of Washington and a member of the Seattle & Sound chapter of CREW (Commercial Real Estate Women).
Antje Volk joined Columbia Pacific Advisors in October 2015 as a Controller. Antje’s experience includes 13 years at as an auditor of investment management companies at PricewaterhouseCoopers, and more recently she was a Controller at a Seattle-based private investment management company. Antje graduated from Gonzaga University with a Bachelors of Business Administration with a concentration in accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Bill Hardt joined Columbia Pacific Advisors in 2012 as the Director of Development within the real estate investment strategy. Bill was the Director of Development at Schnitzer West, one of the largest commercial real estate developers in the Pacific Northwest. Prior to Schnitzer West, Bill was the President of Trammell Crow Residential for the Northwest division, mainly directing Real Estate Development operations. Bill is an accomplished Development Management executive with over three decades of experience offering broad-based business and Development Management oversight of multiple, multimillion dollar projects ranging from individual project costs of $25 million to over $1 billion. Over the past 10 years alone, Bill has led the Development and completion of projects across multiple product types totaling in excess of $3 billion in cost throughout the Pacific Northwest. Throughout his career, Bill is credited with extensive senior housing and residential mixed use project completions with major strengths including leadership, administration, supervision, planning, organization and problem solving. He has deep experience across all phases of the development spectrum, including but not limited to land acquisition, pre-development planning, entitlements, consultant management, general contractor selection and management. Bill attended University California Bakersfield with a major emphasis of study being Engineering Management.
Mr. Meyer joined Columbia Pacific Advisors in 2011 to assist in growing & managing the Real Estate Lending strategy. In his role, Billy is primarily responsible for the business development team and structuring and originating loans. Previously, Mr. Meyer was an investments sales broker with the Tax Credit Group of Marcus & Millichap focused on selling affordable housing apartments through the country. Later, Mr. Meyer joined Holland Partners and represented the equity for acquisitions of value-add apartments in the Northwest. Throughout his tenure, Mr. Meyer participated in the sale or acquisition of over 7,000 units across the country. Mr. Meyer played collegiate golf and graduated from Western Washington University with a degree in Business Administration. Billy is also Chairman of the annual Montlake Club golf tournament, a member of the Next Generation real estate group in Seattle and volunteers for the Seattle Brain Cancer Walk.

Blake Rodgers joined Columbia Pacific Advisors in 2014 to support new loan production, underwriting and business development efforts of the Real Estate Lending strategy. Prior to joining, Blake led two national account partnerships at Starbucks Emerging Brands division. Blake was formerly an agent at Marcus & Millichap on the National Multifamily Housing Group, representing In-City Seattle apartment owners. He was awarded top selling agent in 2009. Blake grew up in the Seattle area and earned his degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance from University of Colorado at Boulder.

Brad Shain joined Columbia Pacific Advisors, LLC, in 2011 to manage the Real Estate Lending strategy. He has 25+ years of experience evaluating various private commercial credit opportunities both personally and professionally. Previously, he was Co-Founder, President and CEO of Maxit Financial from inception in 1993 to its successful $75 million acquisition by Cash America (NYSE: CSH) in October 2010 for cash and stock. He serves on the Board of SST Group, LLC. Brad graduated with a B.S in Applied Physics and a minor in Math from the University of Utah.

Brett Horn joined Columbia Pacific Advisors in 2015 as Tax Manager. Brett previously worked at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Jane Street Capital (New York), and PricewaterhouseCoopers. He graduated from the University of Washington with a Bachelor of Arts in accounting and a Master of Professional Accounting in taxation. Brett has been a Certified Public Accountant since 2009.
Brit Funk joined Columbia Pacific Advisors in September of 2014 as a Development Manager within the real estate investment strategy. She manages new multi-family construction and commercial rehab projects in Seattle, San Francisco and Dallas. Prior to joining CPA Brit worked as a Project Engineer on various tenant improvements to multi-family high rise projects for a local General Contractor. Brit received her Construction Management Certificate from the University of Washington and has been in the industry since 2003.
Courtney Gibson joined Columbia Pacific Advisors in 2012 to manage investor relations. Prior to that Courtney worked at Columbia Pacific Management for 2 years as their Office Manager. Courtney grew up in Kirkland and graduated from Western Washington University in 2008 with a degree in Finance.
Dan Baty is a co-founder of Columbia Pacific Advisors and Columbia Pacific Management, Inc. Previously, Mr. Baty was the founder of Emeritus Corporation, one of the largest and most experienced operators of freestanding assisted living communities located throughout the United States, which merged with Brookdale Senior Living Inc. in 2014. He had served as Chairman of Emeritus since its inception in 1993. Mr. Baty also previously served as the Chairman of Holiday Retirement Corporation, the largest operator of retirement centers in the US and Canada, from 1987 to its sale in 2007 to Fortress Investment Group for more than $6 billion. Mr. Baty has been successfully investing in and developing private companies for over 40 years.
Dan Dubrow joined Columbia Pacific Advisors in 2014 as an Associate Portfolio Manager on the Opportunistic Team. Prior to joining Columbia Pacific, Dan was an Associate Director trading and managing Investment Grade and Crossover Credit at the proprietary fixed-income trading group at UBS, known as UBS Principal Finance & Credit Arbitrage. He also held this role at the hedge fund subsidiary of UBS, Dillon Read Capital Management. In addition, Dan held fixed-income portfolio management and trading positions at Coherence Capital Partners, Collins Stewart and BNP Paribas. He brings 10 years of experience in global fixed income institutional investment management, trading, and credit analysis to Columbia Pacific. Dan received his B.A. in Economics from Colby College and his M.B.A. from Cornell University – S.C. Johnson Graduate School of Management.
Daniel joined Columbia Pacific Advisors in November 2016 as a Fund Accountant. Prior to joining Columbia Pacific, Daniel worked as an Experienced Audit Associate at PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP, a public accounting firm, in San Francisco, CA. He was primarily focused on financial service clients, specifically investment banks and asset managers. Daniel is a Certified Public Accountant with a BA in Accounting and Information Systems from the University of Washington.
David Finden joined Columbia Pacific Advisors in 2015 as an Asset Manager within the real estate investment strategy. Mr. Finden is responsible for performance monitoring of all senior housing assets and overseeing the senior housing asset management team. Prior to Columbia Pacific Advisors, Mr. Finden held multiple roles in financial planning and asset management at Emeritus Senior Living. During his tenure, Mr. Finden helped underwrite over $3 billion in senior living transactions, developed and oversaw key planning and monitoring processes and developed key corporate and community programs covering over 500 senior living communities across the U.S. Mr. Finden graduated with a BS in Economic Geography from Oregon State University and a MBA from Washington State University.
Felicity Wood joined Columbia Pacific Advisors in March 2016 as a Development Manager within the real estate investment strategy. She manages new multi-family and senior housing projects in Seattle. Prior to joining CPA, she worked in the tech industry running marketing programs for Redfin.com. Prior to that Felicity worked in commercial real estate development as an owner’s representative on multi-family housing and a mix of office and retail tenant improvement projects. Felicity graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in Architectural History and a minor in Architecture. Felicity is an Old English Sheepdog aficionado and volunteers for Chimpanzee Sanctuary Northwest.
Greg Kletzly joined Columbia Pacific Advisors in January 2016 to launch the firm’s venture into a self-storage program within the real estate investing strategy. Greg is accountable for the investment, development and asset management of self-storage properties in select growth markets. Previously, Greg was Vice President, Development for Public Storage of the northwest and mountain states regions, responsible for sourcing, entitling and developing modern self-storage facilities. Greg was an Investment Director with Schnitzer West engaged in the development of landmark office space, premier retail shops and luxury apartments. Greg brings extensive experience in real estate acquisitions, site planning, entitlements, agency management, building design, development management and asset management. Greg has earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of Washington, a Master of Science in Real Estate from the University of Denver and a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Notre Dame.
Jack Ferry is the Chief Financial Officer for Columbia Pacific Advisors and joined the firm in December 2014. He brings over 20 years of experience, including most recently, CFO for Ignition Partners, a Seattle area venture capital firm where he spent eight years. Jack was Vice President of Tax at Infospace, Inc. from 2000-2006 where he was responsible for worldwide tax reporting and treasury duties, and prior to that he was a Senior Tax Manager with Deloitte & Touche, Seattle WA. Jack has a M.S. in Taxation from Golden Gate University and a business degree with a concentration in accounting from the University of Washington. He currently serves on the finance committee of the Seattle Tennis Club and has been involved as a community representative for the Seattle Neighborhood Greenways.
Jason Jenks joined Columbia Pacific Advisors in 2014 as an Accounting Controller. Prior to joining Columbia Pacific, he was a Business Assurance Manager for Moss Adams, LLP, a Pacific Northwest based public accounting firm, and primarily focused on leading assurance and compliance engagements for financial service entities including broker-dealers, pooled investment vehicles, and other specialty finance businesses. Jason graduated from Western Washington University earning a BA in Accounting/Economics, and a Master’s of Professional Accounting degree. Jason is a Certified Public Accountant and a member of the American Society of Certified Public Accountants.
Jeff Schrock joined Columbia Pacific Advisors in 2012 as Managing Director in the Growth Capital group. Mr. Schrock has over twenty years of operating and investing experience in technology companies, particularly in the digital media, gaming, consumer internet, enterprise software and mobile application sectors. Prior to joining Columbia Pacific Advisors, Mr. Schrock served as Investment Director at Intel Capital where he made and oversaw investments in digital video, gaming, mobile and other consumer technology companies. Prior to 2008, Mr. Schrock served in an executive capacity for various public technology companies, including RealNetworks, Yahoo! and CMGi. Mr. Schrock began his career as an entrepreneur, co-founding and serving as CEO of Activate, a successful, venture backed start-up in digital media. Mr. Schrock serves as a member of the Board of Directors for Evo Media Group, Inc. and as an observer to the board of directors at Comixology and Lighthouse eDiscovery.
Jessica Gray joined Columbia Pacific Advisors in July 2016 as an Investor Relations Associate. Prior to joining CPA full-time, Jessica worked as an intern in CPA’s finance department. Jessica grew up in Northern California and graduated from the University of Washington in June 2016 with a degree in Finance and a minor in Spanish.
Giuseppe (Joe) Augello joined Columbia Pacific Advisors in 2014 as the Acquisition Manager within the real estate investment strategy. Joe is Accountable for land acquisition, contract negotiations, and management of multiple relationships with a selected team of brokers, consultants, development partners and financial partners. Prior to joining CPA, Joe was a Portfolio Manager with Bank of America’s Commercial Real Estate Banking group, where he underwrote, restructured and managed over $600 million in credit lending facilities. Previously, Joe was the Equity Sales Associate at GE Capital Real Estate, where he was responsible for the acquisition, contract negotiations and asset management of office, industrial and retail properties throughout the United States. Joe earned his degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance from Western Washington University and is a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM).
Kari Luttinen joined Columbia Pacific Advisors in 2015 as a junior underwriter for the Real Estate Lending strategy. Previously, Kari was an intern in the accounting departments for Columbia Pacific Management, Columbia Pacific Advisors and Silvaris Corporation, respectively. A Seattle native, Kari played Division I basketball at the University of Portland where she earned All-Academic in the conference for 3 consecutive years. Kari graduated from the University of Portland Pamplin School of Business with a degree in Finance.

Kevin Quinn joined Columbia Pacific Advisors in 2013 as the Asset and Underwriting Manager for the Real Estate Lending strategy. In his role, Kevin leads the Underwriting and Asset Management teams and serves an operational role assisting the Fund Manager with banking relationships and cash management, and managing various vendor relationships. Prior to joining Columbia Pacific Advisors Kevin was a Senior Credit Analyst at Sterling Bank underwriting and monitoring the more complex commercial borrower relationships. Mr. Quinn’s array of experience includes commercial real estate, loan structuring, loan workout and special asset management, foreclosures and bankruptcies, CREO, commercial and industrial lending, corporate and middle market banking, asset based lending, and equipment lease financing/brokering. Kevin graduated from the University of Washington in 2005 with a double major in Economics and Political Science.

Kevin Swanson joined Columbia Pacific Advisors in 2015 as the Senior Interior Designer within the real estate investment strategy. Kevin manages interior design for all of our Senior Living Projects throughout the country. Prior to joining CPA Kevin worked as Interior Design Director at Emeritus Senior Living for 12 years. Kevin also spent time as a interior designer working for J.O.E Associates. Kevin received his Bachelors in Interior Design from North Dakota State University.
Kym Lee joined Columbia Pacific Advisors in January 2013 as a Development Manager within the real estate investment strategy. She manages all facets of mixed use and commercial developments from entitlements through construction and turnover. Prior to joining CPA Kym worked in the same capacity on various mid- and high-rise multifamily projects in and around Seattle. Kym has also spent time working as a non-profit developer piecing together financing and managing the construction of affordable housing projects serving domestic violence victims, chronically mentally ill and homeless families and individuals. Kym graduated from the University of Colorado in Boulder where she received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a Master of Science in Construction Engineering and Management.
Madeline Virzi joined Columbia Pacific Advisors in June 2016 as a Senior Fund Accountant for the opportunistic and hedge strategies. Before joining Columbia Pacific, Madeline worked as a Senior Finance Associate at Bain Capital Credit, a Boston-based manager of high yield debt securities. Prior to her work in Boston, she was an Audit Associate with Weaver, a regional public accounting firm in Texas. Madeline is a Certified Public Accountant with a BBA in Accounting and an MS in Finance from Texas A&M University.
Mitch Johnson joined Columbia Pacific Advisors in March 2016 as the Acquisition Manager for the self storage program within the real estate investment strategy. Prior to joining CPA, Mitch was the Site Acquisition Manager for Public Storage in the northwest and mountain states. Mitch has comprehensive retail real estate site acquisition and entitlement feasibility experience with Safeway Stores, Home Depot, POB Montgomery Developers and Savers Stores throughout the western United States. Mitch is a licensed Architect and Real Estate Broker and is a graduate of the University of Washington, School of Architecture and has received a Commercial Real Estate Certificate from the Runstad Center for Real Estate Studies at the University of Washington.
Paul Parietti serves as CPA’s Chief Compliance Officer. He is responsible for developing and monitoring the firm’s compliance program, ensuring all activities meet the requirements of state and federal legal and regulatory agencies. Paul holds the same capacity with Columbia Pacific Capital Management, and has held this role since 2009. Prior to Columbia Pacific, Paul worked as a Fund Accounting/Operations Manager for Summit Capital Group. Paul grew up on Mercer Island and received a B.A. in Accounting from Seattle University.
Pete Aparico joined Columbia Pacific Advisors in 2017 and is responsible for real estate acquisition and development opportunities within the real estate investment strategy. Prior to joining Columbia Pacific Advisors, Pete was a multi-family development, commercial development, and acquisitions lead at Vulcan, responsible for deal sourcing, pipeline development, and life cycle investment performance. Formerly, Pete was an Investment Director with Schnitzer West and an Officer in the Navy’s Civil Engineer Corps. Pete earned a B.S. in Systems Engineering from the United States Naval Academy, a Master of Science in Engineering from Stanford University, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Rich Menti joined Columbia Pacific Advisors in 2014 as a Senior Asset Manager within the real estate investment strategy. He is primarily responsible for management of the industrial, office, medical, hospitality and multi-family properties as well as assisting in acquisitions, dispositions and partner relationships. Rich has 22 years of real estate experience in all facets of the industry from asset management, development, acquisitions, dispositions leasing and brokerage ownership. Prior to joining CPA, Rich was the Vice President at Meriwether Advisors, a commercial real estate advisory and investment firm. Before Meriwether Advisors, Rich served as President and Owner of multiple Real Estate franchises in the Puget Sound. Rich graduated from the University of Washington with a B.A in Speech and Communication.
Rob Shields joined Columbia Pacific Advisors in 2017 as a Senior Underwriter for the Real Estate Lending strategy. Mr. Shields has over 10 years of diverse experience within the banking and finance sectors, holding various roles of increasing responsibility with Washington Trust Bank, Sterling Bank, Umpqua Bank, and PACCAR Financial Corporation. Rob’s experience spans a variety of sectors including agricultural finance, commercial and industrial lending, corporate and middle market banking, collateral based lending, international trade finance, private banking, and investor real estate. Rob graduated from Whitworth University in 2006 with B.A. in Business Management and earned his MBA from Gonzaga University in 2012.
Robert Barnes joined Columbia Pacific Advisors in 2016 as an Asset and Underwriting Manager for the Real Estate Lending strategy team. Robert has over 20 years of international experience, mostly with the Macquarie Group, in commercial real estate finance in various areas including workouts, asset and portfolio management, underwriting and operations. Originally from Australia, Robert graduated from the University of Queensland with a Bachelor of Commerce degree with a concentration in finance and law.

Sarah Rosler joined Columbia Pacific Advisors in 2012 where she works directly with our real estate investment strategies team on development accounting and lender coordination. Sarah started her career at Grant Thornton where she worked in the assurance department auditing small tech and biotech companies. Then she worked at Emeritus Corporation where she was a senior corporate accountant focused on capital leases, quarterly and annual filings and construction accounting. Most recently she worked for Columbia Pacific Management as a fund accountant. Sarah graduated in May of 2000 with a double major in Accounting and Finance.
Scott Schneider joined Columbia Pacific Advisors in 2015 as a Senior Underwriter for our Real Estate Lending strategy. Scott has over 10 years of diverse experience within commercial real estate, having functioned as a banker, developer, and asset manager for companies including US Bank, Macquarie Bank, and Merrill Gardens/Pillar Properties. A Northwest native from Bellevue, Scott graduated from Western Washington University with a degree in Business Administration and concentrations in finance and marketing.

Stan Baty is a Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Columbia Pacific Advisors and Vice President of Columbia Pacific Management, Inc. Previously, Mr. Baty was a financial analyst for Nomura Securities Corporation. He was a member of the Board of Directors of Emeritus Corporation from its inception in 1993 until its merger with Brookdale Senior Living, Inc. in 2014. Mr. Baty currently sits on the Board of Directors of Seattle Bank, Dry Soda, Northwest Horticulture, Optimum Energy, Simply Fun, SST Group and Winemakers Investment Properties. Mr. Baty graduated with a B.A. from the University of Washington.
Todd Seneker joined Columbia Pacific Advisors in 2012 and is the Managing Director of all real estate investment strategies. Mr. Seneker has overall accountability for Columbia Pacific’s real estate acquisition, development and asset management platform. Since joining Columbia Pacific Advisors, Todd has led the acquisition, development and/or re-positioning efforts for over 2,500 senior housing units, approximately 1,200 multi-family units, and over 800,000 sf. of commercial space throughout the US. Prior to joining Columbia Pacific Advisors, Todd was an Investment Director with Schnitzer West, where he oversaw several multi-family development projects located throughout the Puget Sound Region. Todd graduated with a B.A. in Economics from Dartmouth College and has an MBA from the Anderson School at UCLA.
Trent Stedman joined Columbia Pacific in 2013 and manages our hedged strategy and our United Kingdom specialty finance strategy. Prior to joining Columbia Pacific, he managed the New Vernon Aegir Fund, a long/short equity hedge fund, from inception in 2004 to 2013. Prior to forming the Aegir Fund, Trent was a Principal at Centre Partners, a New York-based private equity fund he joined in 1995. At Centre Partners, Trent participated in leveraged buyout and growth capital investments in sectors including consumer products, food, retail, media, and senior housing. Trent received a Bachelor of Sciences in Economics, magna cum laude, from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania in 1993.
Veerpal Dhaliwal joined Columbia Pacific Advisors in September 2016 as an Accounting Manager. Prior to joining Columbia Pacific, she was an Assurance Manager with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP in Ontario, Canada, a public accounting firm. She was primarily focused on leading assurance and compliance engagements for financial service entities including banks, mutual funds, pensions, broker-dealers, pooled investment vehicles, and other specialty finance businesses. Veerpal graduated from the University of Toronto in Mississauga, Canada earning a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting Specialist / Economics. Veerpal is a Certified Public Accountant in Canada and a member of Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada.
Vera Minar joined Columbia Pacific Advisors in April 2016 as the Portfolio Manager of the Opportunistic Strategy and as the Chief Investment Officer of our affiliate, Columbia Pacific Wealth Management. Vera spent over 9 years at Stanford University’s endowment where she most recently oversaw Absolute Return and Fixed Income portfolios and previously led asset allocation for the endowment. Prior to Stanford, she worked on the equity derivatives desk at Barclays Capital. Vera started her career at Ziff Brothers Investments. Vera graduated from Stony Brook University with a degree in Chemistry.
Will Nelson joined Columbia Pacific Advisors in 2015 to assist with loan production and asset strategy for our Real Estate Lending strategy. Previously he managed the real estate portfolio for Legacy Companies. Will participated in the acquisition, disposition, leasing, project management, entitlement work and property management of approximately 1.5 million square feet of real estate assets in the United States and Canada. Will graduated from Loyola Marymount University’s business program with an emphasis in Marketing and Management. He earned his MBA from the University of Washington.

Yasamine Firoozi joined Columbia Pacific Advisors in 2016. As Office Manager, Yasamine oversees day to day operations, maintains all office systems and provides administrative support to over 50 individuals. Prior to joining CPA, Yasamine worked with Global Health Strategies as a global health communications and advocacy intern. Yasamine graduated from the University of Washington with a BA in International Studies and Global Development.
